The Perfect Finish!

Hello readers!!!!!
Its been a while but I've come with some real goodies for you today!!!
I get a lot of questions about foundation; how to match, what formula to use and how to get that perfect long lasting finish. So lets start from the beginning!!!

What women fail to understand its not only how you put on the foundation or what foundation you use. Its all about the way you prep your skin!!! Its the most important thing you can do! You want to exfoliate your skin every week (once a week dry skin; twice a week oily skin). Be sure to cleanse and wash your face every day and night. And last but not least be sure to moisturize!!!!!!! NOT LOTION; but a moisturizer meant for your face. All these products should have some key ingredients no matter what type of skin you have. Water, at least 3 essential oils and vitamin C & E. All those things will help your skin look amazing!!!!
*** If the products come in a set, get ALLL for that set. Companies make sets because they all work together for your skin*****

Now we need a primer. Ladies a primer is the most important thing you could do for the overall achievement for flawless makeup. Its gives your skin the things it needs threw out the day. Its protects your skin from the foundation and makes it last allllll day. Right now my favorite its Prep & Prime Natural Radiance from M.A.C. its has the guarantee to last between 10 and 8 hrs. It comes in pink for my lighter skinned ladies and yellow for my darker skinned ladies!

And now we get to foundation. This for some people are tricky; but when you do find it STICK TO WHAT WORKS!!!! Now for dry skin get something water based, oily skin get something water based.... Simple enough right?! No matter what your skin needs water to hydrate. You will pick foundation based on the finish you want; dewy and moisturizing or matte. For dryer skin the dewy is the best. Oily skin,  matte is the best to suck up that oil.  Now be sure to swatch your skin 3x on forehead to be sure you have the right color.
***When picking the color make sure you compliment your undertone; red, yellow or olive. Doing this will give you the best natural match****

To apply foundation my favorite brushes are the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, Beauty Blender (Used wet) and a Dual Fiber Brush. Any one of these will give you the perfect look! (Take a look at my previous post Brush It On, I go into great detail about brushes)

Now be sure to powder your skin to set that foundation in. If you want to keep that dewy skin just powder important areas; Under eyes, forehead, chin and nose. This will keep the other parts of your face dewy while setting in those important areas. For a heavy coverage you can use the complimenting powder to the foundation. For just setting purposes you can use a translucent powder for a light dust.

Ladies I hope this answers all your questions! Remember when you walk into that store its ok to ask for help.
