Chapter 3- Dirty 30

You ever purchase a lipstick color you were UBERRRR excited to try, get home and it was complete trash. Well that's what my 30th birthday was like.

16 days before my birthday, 1 day after my wedding anniversary I was asked for a divorce; which I knew was coming, but the pain was still the same. So turning 30, a milestone number, a new decade seemed like the perfect way to start a new color!

I am very big on numbers, so with all the changes happening 30 was a pretty big deal for me. 30 is a divine number that reminds us to focus on your spirituality. 3 is the trinity; beginning, middle, end; and for me I was ending a part of my life. And 0 is an infinite number, signifying infinite possibilities; the world is my Ulta to shop my heart’s desire. Mannnnnn I was excited to turn 30.

As the days went on, the count down to the big 30 was slowly not feeling as exciting and new. It was hitting me hard, much harder than I thought. I was sad because things weren't the same and never would be. The consequences of my actions were seeping into my pores and I felt like I was starting to ooze this funk.

Planning a Birthday celebration just didn't seem worth it. I looked on my friends and family to plan/do something. When they didn't, felt like I wasn't worth the time. Like my marriage all I wanted was to be shown I was worth the time and effort.

So many times I wanted to take that lipstick back to the store; give up all together. I tried every lip-liner combination, every single gloss on top. It still didn't work.

Then I realized it wasn't the color, it was me; I just was not ready.

I realized that need to glow a bit more, let the summer of "Hot Girl" touch my skin. Allow the sun to kiss my skin so hard, that color would seem it was made for only me, only Zenia.

So I guess 30 did start something for me. It was the beginning of my journey. Where I thought was an end was really the beginning of the infinite possibilities of

 Zenia!
